Read the code before you throw parts at it.
The orange engine lamp means the car’s computer has stored a fault. It might be a $12 fuel cap. It might be a misfire that will melt a catalytic converter if you keep driving. The only way to tell is a scan — not a parts-cannon at a chain store.
Flashing versus solid
A flashing light usually means an active misfire. Ease off, avoid highways if you can, and book in. A solid light with otherwise normal driving can often wait until morning — still get it read. Either way, do not ignore it for months; Queensland roadworthy inspections will fail a car with the lamp on.
What we do
We connect dealer-level diagnostics, read manufacturer-specific codes (not just generic P-codes), look at live data, and then quote the repair. No “it could be the oxygen sensor, let’s try one”. If the code points at a sensor, we test the circuit.
