Most Queensland roadworthy fails are not dramatic. They are tyres on the wear bars, a dead brake-light globe, and a windscreen chip in the wrong place. These are the items Driven Autocare flags most often for Gold Coast cars.
Tyres and brakes
Tread below 1.6 mm, cracked sidewalls, or a space-saver used as a road tyre will fail. So will brake pads on the backing plate, a warning lamp, or a parking brake that will not hold. We stock Continental, Kumho and Maxtrek tyres if you want them fitted the same day.
Lights, glass and wipers
- Any required lamp not working — including the number-plate light.
- Cracked or clouded headlamp lenses that cut output.
- Windscreen damage in the driver’s primary vision area.
- Wiper blades that smear, or a washer that does not spray.
Steering, suspension and rust
Worn ball joints, leaking shocks and play in the steering are common on Nerang and hinterland cars. Structural rust — not surface scale — is a fail. Coastal suburbs like Labrador see more underbody corrosion from salt air; we check rails, mounts and brake lines on the hoist.
