Annual COI without losing a weekend of fares.
If you drive Uber, DiDi, Ola or taxi on the Gold Coast you need an annual Certificate of Inspection as well as the usual servicing. It is a Queensland safety inspection for vehicles used in public passenger service — similar in spirit to a roadworthy, with the paperwork your platform or operator expects.
What we check
Lights, tyres, brakes, steering, seatbelts, windscreen, body condition and the identification of the vehicle. We see a lot of high-kilometre Camrys, i3s and hybrids from Southport and Surfers drivers — the fails are usually tyres, brakes and chips, not engines.
Timing it around shifts
The workshop opens at 6am Monday to Friday. Plenty of rideshare drivers drop the car before the morning peak and pick it up the same day if it passes. A COI inspection is $89. If repairs are needed we quote before we start so you can decide whether to wait or come back.
